Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia” or “the Exchange”) will reinstate full day trading on the eve of Chinese New Year, which will fall this year on 9 February 2024. This move, made following industry consultation, is to enhance investor access to the market ahead of the festive period.
As such, the trading hours in conjunction with Chinese New Year 2024 are as follows:
· Full day trading on 9 February 2024 (Friday)
Both securities and derivatives markets will be opened under normal trading hours on 9 February 2024. Nevertheless, in accordance with Bursa Malaysia Derivatives’ Procedure, there will be no T+1 night trading session on 9 February 2024.
Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries will be opened per normal business hours.
· Closure of market on 12 February 2024 (Monday)
Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries will be closed on 12 February 2024 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2024 national public holiday. The Exchange and its subsidiaries will resume operations on 13 February 2024 (Tuesday).
Similarly, Bursa Malaysia will also be opened for full day trading on the eve of the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri holidays, which will again be announced in April 2024.
